In 1941 at the age of 18 Dick Watson Sr. joined the R.C.A.F. and went to serve his country. After four years of flying fighter planes and being shot down three times, he returned home in 1945 as a war hero. It was at this time that he decided to fulfill his dreams of starting a tourism business on Kabinakagami Lake using his military earnings. Dick and his wife Edna married in 1946 and together they began to build their future at Pine Portage Lodge.

Temple Party arrives today.

John Temple & Christopher Laub are spending their 17th year with us here at Pine Portage Lodge. Dan and Steve are trying to catch up to them. Just remember guys we plan on adding more to this blog so bring in the pictures. Last year they had an awesome year of fishing and are looking forward to this one being even better. I will keep you updated on their progress this year.

Hello Mary Ellen: Attached are a couple of fish photos for your blog. The first is a 44 inch and the second a forty, not too bad for a novice fisherman like myself. Our group of four had yet another fantastic experience at Pine Portage catching just shy of 500 pike for the week, all of which were released successfully so they will be available next year when we return, all an inch or so bigger.
Thanks so much for your usual level of superb hospitality. The accommodations were great and we're already making our plans for next year.
All the best!
Steve Temple
