In 1941 at the age of 18 Dick Watson Sr. joined the R.C.A.F. and went to serve his country. After four years of flying fighter planes and being shot down three times, he returned home in 1945 as a war hero. It was at this time that he decided to fulfill his dreams of starting a tourism business on Kabinakagami Lake using his military earnings. Dick and his wife Edna married in 1946 and together they began to build their future at Pine Portage Lodge.

HAS THE SUMMER FINALLY BEGUN!!!!!!!

Well we are glad that we had a rather late opening this spring since the ice didn't start leaving until the 9th of May. Our Walleye season officially opened Saturday, May 21/11 and is off to a great start. The Petty party flew in Saturday Morning and managed to catch and release well over 100 fish by 5:30 that day. David Petty caught a 24" walleye on the second day but forgot to take a picture :( The Urban party had great success also catching some big pike and walleye.
The Murdock party is scheduled in today and I can't wait to see what their 'theme' will be for this year. I have attached a few spring pictures for you to enjoy:
