In 1941 at the age of 18 Dick Watson Sr. joined the R.C.A.F. and went to serve his country. After four years of flying fighter planes and being shot down three times, he returned home in 1945 as a war hero. It was at this time that he decided to fulfill his dreams of starting a tourism business on Kabinakagami Lake using his military earnings. Dick and his wife Edna married in 1946 and together they began to build their future at Pine Portage Lodge.

Aken Party 2009 fishing Vacations

The Aken Family had a great four days of fishing on the Housekeeping Plan at Pine Portage Lodge!! The night before they left they had an unexpected visitor looking for dinner.


Look who showed up for dinner!!!!
Just wanted to let you know we did trap the culprit and took him for a little ride so he could find his own dinner!!!
Sorry about the visitor guy's and thank's for the great pictures, we really do appreciate the time you took to send them to us. Take care and maybe we will see you both next year!!!
