Well I guess spring has finally sprung. There is still ice here on Wawa Lake but this week we are suppose to be getting some pretty warm weather. If you haven't booked your fishing trip yet for this summer there is still time and some space available. So if you would like to come and do some serious fishing or just like to come and enjoy the GREAT OUTDOORS and some serious relaxing Pine Portage is the place to go.

- In 1941 at the age of 18 Dick Watson Sr. joined the R.C.A.F. and went to serve his country. After four years of flying fighter planes and being shot down three times, he returned home in 1945 as a war hero. It was at this time that he decided to fulfill his dreams of starting a tourism business on Kabinakagami Lake using his military earnings. Dick and his wife Edna married in 1946 and together they began to build their future at Pine Portage Lodge.

Well if you haven't been reading up on Ontario Laws here's a new one for you.
As of Monday, February 1, 2010 it is illigal to use a hand held cell phone, blackberry and other electronic devices while behind the wheel.
Hands free cell phones and some other devices are still legal to use. To find out more about the ban on hand held devices in Ontario while behind the wheel check out this link http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/safety/topics/cellular.shtml This will give you the information you need to know before crossing the border with a hand held cell phone.

NEWS RELEASE FOR FISHING LICENSES
All issuers of Fishing Licenses just received a letter from the Ministry Of Natural Resources stating that they have a lot of Fishing and Hunting Outdoors cards on hold pending missing information that was either not supplied or illegible on the Temporary Form filled out by the Issuers. If you have not received your Plastic Outdoors Card in the Mail yet please call
1-800-387-7011 and they will confirm your information they require. If you do not have your Outdoors Card with you next year when you come fishing you will have to purchase another card whether you forgot it at home or if you didn't receive it. You have to have an Outdoors Card to purchase a License.
MAKE SURE YOU CALL THE ABOVE NUMBER IF YOU HAVEN'T RECEIVED YOUR OUTDOORS CARD YET.
