My photo
Pine Portage Lodge located on Kabinakagami Lake, Watson's Algoma Vacations year round Reservation office 1-800-363-4443 is located in Wawa, Ontario, Canada
In 1941 at the age of 18 Dick Watson Sr. joined the R.C.A.F. and went to serve his country. After four years of flying fighter planes and being shot down three times, he returned home in 1945 as a war hero. It was at this time that he decided to fulfill his dreams of starting a tourism business on Kabinakagami Lake using his military earnings. Dick and his wife Edna married in 1946 and together they began to build their future at Pine Portage Lodge.

"JUST IN TODAY"

Check out this nice Fish Mount: Chris and Travis caught this beauty while at Pine Portage Lodge 2008. He saw his picture on our Web Site at fishthefinest.com and decided to send in a picture of it mounted over his fire place. Nice pictures and thanks for thinking of us Chris.

"IS IT TIME TO GO FISHING YET"

PINE PORTAGE ISN'T QUITE READY FOR FISHING SEASON YET. When visited in March 2009 there was plenty of the "white stuff". Who ever came up with the saying "If March comes in like a Lion it will go out like a Lamb" doesn't know anything about Northern Ontario. March came in like a Lion alright but it also went out the same way. Now that April has arrived we are finally getting our spring weather. We still have ice on Wawa Lake but the snow is disappearing quickly. Usually once the ice on Wawa Lake starts breaking up Kaby Lake isn't far behind. We will keep you up todate on our ice conditions
